Disturbed have released a new cover of Sting's 1993 track 'If I Ever Lose My Faith In You' - and it's really no surprise they're moving further down the covers rabbit hole, seeing as their version of Simon & Garfunkel's 'The Sound Of Silence' has become their most successful song of all time, now with over 600 million views on YouTube and a myriad of Gold and Platinum certifications.
Unlike the symphonic 'The Sound Of Silence', though, Disturbed's new cover does have some harder-hitting moments that bring in double kick drums and distorted guitars. Starting with a delicate piano intro, the song kicks up a gear halfway through, as vocalist David Draiman taps into some of his signature raspy howls.
The song's lyrics also seem to be more relevant than ever in the current global unrest brought on by politics and the COVID pandemic.
