Halestorm are back baby! The Grammy award-winning hard rockers have returned to claim their place a the top of the modern hard rock hierarchy, blasting back to life with the bloody massive Back From The Dead.
Their first new music from the band since dropping 2018's Vicious, Back From The Dead is a bold and triumphant rallying cry that more than holds its own in the Halestorm pantheon. Powered by Lzzy Hale's grit-infused rock vocal wailing over a big old rockin' riff, Back From The Dead is an inspired return from one of the most celebrated and successful rock bands of the last two decades.
A song this big needs an epic video to accompany it and the Dusten Haney directed video for Back From The Dead more than lives up to the billing. Produced by Revolution Pictures, the clip features Lzzy and the band in a morgue and cemetery, somewhere between life and death. It's an epic watch and perfectly conveys the lyrical message of survival.
As Lzzy explains:
Back From the Dead’ is about survival, not in a physical sense, even though I know we all have been touched by death especially these last few years. This song is personal and written from a mental health perspective. I wanted to give myself and the world a hard rock song we could shout out loud as the gates opened again. I was on the edge of this world getting completely lost in oblivion, but even though it was the harder of two choices, I didn’t just let the darkness and depression in my mind dig me an early grave. I didn’t just sit and let it take me. I’ve erased my name from my headstone, so save your prayers, I’m back! I hope this song, as I pass it on to you, reminds YOU of your strength individually and that you are not alone.”
It's a positive affirmation from a band that has grown from a childhood dream of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale into a fully realised rock phenomenon that has surpassed a billion streams worldwide.
