Lzzy Hale has surprised a Nashville cover band by joining them onstage for an impromptu duet of Halestorm’s Here’s to Us. Hale and a group of friends were out at Bon Jovi's new bar JBJ's Nashville, when they were informed that the cover band, Coco and the Nash had just covered a Halestorm song and had another about to follow on the setlist. When Coco and the Nash launched into Here's To Us (from 2012's The Strange Case Of...), Hale jumped up on stage, joining singer Coco (a huge Halestorm fan) on the mic.  A YouTuber captured the spontaneous moment when Hale joined singer Coco Groves in the middle of the song.

Groves, visibly taken aback, warmly embraced Hale and handed her the mic for a verse.“It’s Lzzy Hale!” Groves exclaimed to the astonished crowd. Hale later posted a clip of their duet on Instagram, along with a heartfelt recount of the evening.

After walking into the place I was approached by a local talent, Lily and she told me that the band performing right now had just covered a Halestorm song. Bummed I had missed it, I got a drink to watch the rest of thee band’s set. After a few songs the band started playing “Here’s To Us”, and I don’t know what came over me, but I made my way to the stage, surprising the band and the lead singer CoCo @theadventuresofcocogroves ( who is an OG Halestorm Freak btw). We traded lines, harmonized and brought the whole bar together. This was the first time I’ve ever jumped up on stage on broadway, so thank you to Coco, the band, the staff and the amazing fans for letting me crash the party and for all the kind words and conversations I had with freaks from Canada, Texas, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington!
The stars aligned last night, and reminded me that we are all just humans who are reaching out for connection. No matter how scary this world seems, music, art and connection always outshine everything else.
P.S. But wait…there’s more to the story….. after I walked off stage I fell immediately into the embrace of @shiftingrachel …a die hard day 1 halestorm fan, and amazing warrior soul that I am honored to call a friend! Haven’t seen her in a lifetime, and the universe just happened to put us in the same place last night. I love this Magic shit!

Watch fan footage of the rocking duet below.

To celebrate the band's return to the land down under, for Knotfest Australia, earlier this year we caught up with frontwoman Hale for a wide-ranging discussion about the band's journey from third place at the local talent show to heralded hard rock heroes.

Topics discussed include the band's love for Australia and that nation's undying love for live music, the Knotfest Australia lineup, being the first female brand ambassador for Gibson, her signature model Kramer and the influence Heart's Ann Wilson has had on her as a vocalist.
