Corey Taylor has revealed a third new song called 'HWY 666' from his upcoming debut solo record CMFT, which is due out on October 2 via Roadrunner Records.
The new song is packed with riffs, pulling from all sorts of genres including psychobilly, 80's rock, outlaw country and metal. It's also paired with a fantastic lyric video which you can check out below:
'HWY 666' follows on from 'CMFT Must Be Stopped' and 'Black Eyes Blue', which have all sounded distinctly different from each other so far.
When Maniacs spoke to Corey about the album, he had this to say:
"...if it was anything I felt like I could have done with either band, I probably wouldn't have done it. Like, the whole reason to do something like this is because it's different than anything anybody else has ever heard you do.
That was really the driving standpoint for me. I didn't want to just put out a watered-down Slipknot or Stone Sour album, I wanted to put out something that would represent me, a whole other side of who I am. Not only as a songwriter but a song lover, you know? I wanted to put out that vibe. And it just came out really upbeat and fucking awesome, really."
You can pre-order CMFT right here on the Maniacs store in both CD and vinyl variants, and there are a limited number of autographed copies available too! Use the link below:
