French metal titans Gojira shocked the world over the weekend, teaming up with opera singer Marina Viotti for an unforgettable performance at the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Paris. The formidable quartet from Ondres, Landes and Viotti performed a punishing rendition of the French Revolutionary anthem Ah! Ça Ira, outside of Conciergerie Palace. In a new interview,singer-guitarist Joe Duplantier has reflected on the instantly iconic moment and revealed how it all came together in the first place.
- Sum 41 have released a new single 'Landmines', the anthemic 'Landmines' is a nostalgic treat for old fans and proves that the band plans on going out with a bang, rather than a whimper as they look to close the book on their 27-year career.
- It's springtime and business is really blooming for Sydney melodic hardcore outfit Bloom. Fresh off announcing their new partnership with Pure Noise Records and releasing the emotive banger 'Bound To Your Whispers', the band will soon be touring the country as part of the massive Good Things Festival. To celebrate we caught up with the band to find out the five songs they're most looking forward to seeing when they hit the road for Good Things.
- Chasing Ghosts are currently touring the country in support of Young Lions on their Burn tenth-anniversary tour. Ahead of returning to the road with Young Lions, Tapestry and Shangrila, frontman Jimmy Kyle was kind enough to pen a 'letter of musical recommendation' for us, revealing his connection to the hardcore scene in this country and giving a heartfelt shoutout to two hardcore bands with First Nations members, Nerve Damage and Homesick.
- Rap-rock veterans P.O.D have teamed up with Randy Blythe of Lamb of God to drop the bouncy new anthem, 'Drop'.
- Tony Iommi surprised the audience at the premiere of 'Black Sabbath: The Ballet' by performing Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' with the cast.
- Northlane have announced a massive summer package tour of Australia. The Dante tour will see the Aussie metalcore heavyweights joined by ERRA (USA), Landmvrks (FRA) and Banks Arcade (NZ) on a five-show run that'll see them hit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
