It's springtime and business is really blooming for Sydney melodic hardcore outfit Bloom.
Last week they made the massive announcement that they had become the second Australian band to sign with influential US label Pure Noise Records, joining a stacked roster of artists including The Amity Affliction, Counterparts, Knocked Loose and many more. That announcement was accompanied by the release of the epic emotive banger Bound To Your Whispers. The band's first song released under the freshly announced partnership between Pure Noise Records and Melbourne's Greyscale Records, Bound To Your Whispers saw the group again join forces with long-time collaborator Christopher Vernon (Better Half, Belle Haven) to create an exploration of internal disparity and the disconnect between internal doubts and the manipulation of one's self. "Written as a dialogue between the two internal voices, the protagonist is manipulated by their own thoughts, falling into a false sense of security," explains the band.
The single tussles with anxiety and the false sense that accompanies it. Navigating the internal struggle between the voice of reason and the seeds of doubt, Bound To Your Whispers depicts a tale of decline as the protagonist is eventually consumed by their own negative thoughts. Sonically narrated with blazing vocal deliveries and melodic, heavy-hitting instrumentation, Bloom's latest single conjures an emotional listen until its final heartbeat.
In another huge development, in two months time, they'll be hitting the road as part of the lineup for the epic 2023 edition of the Good Things Festival.
