Ahh yes, metal in non-metal places; it's always a bit of fun watching people's reactions to unexpected heavies in public (like Andrew Baena busking with djent, for example)!
In this hilarious video produced by Metalsucks, the lead guitarist and vocalist from Colorado death metal band Allegaeon set up shop in a busy New York City subway, initially fooling commuters into thinking they're just regular buskers playing some typical Supremes tunes before launching into a "deep cut off Bono from U2's solo album", 'Desecrate The Wound'.
Much to the surprise of nobody, the ensuing extreme metal racket is not exactly well-received. Props to Allegaeon for having the balls to create this fantastic clip, and they even made a dollar at the end of it all. Yay!
Watch the chaos unfold below:
Allegaeon formed in 2008 and have released five albums, the latest of which being Apoptosis which was released on April 23. If you've never heard them before you can keep scrolling to give them a spin below!
They're also touring Australia as of today in support of our own Ne Obliviscaris, along with Rivers Of Nihil, Caligula's Horse and Beyond Creation:
