Corey Taylor has announced that Stone Sour are going on an indefinite hiatus during a new episode of The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast.
Speaking on the status of the band, he said:
“I feel like Stone Sour has kinda run its course for now. We all talked as a band and decided to kinda put Stone Sour in indefinite hiatus. That’s the way it is. We’ve put it on the shelf for now. Everyone’s kind of going and doing their own thing."
Admittedly, the news doesn't come as a total shock - Corey's new solo project also includes Stone Sour guitarist Christian Martucci, and as he told us in our recent interview, he plans to put out more solo albums then take it on tour around the world after Slipknot's next touring cycle.
Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga is also now the drummer for Hellyeah, and has recently been working with Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton too.
Stone Sour produced a myriad of successful hits across their career, with their latest album Hydrograd hitting the top 10 in charts around the world when it released in 2017.
Thanks for the memories, guys! Bye for now, hopefully not forever.
Listen to Stone Sour now.
