YouTuber Rob Scallon has brought us some really great content over the years, and has become well-known for playing metal music on weird and wonderful obscure instruments.
His newest video sees him taking control of a massive church pipe organ with his laptop, translating songs from Metallica, Animals As Leaders, Queen and more into a thundering, church-filling noise!
Rob used MIDI files on his laptop to tell the instrument what notes to play, when, and for how long. It took some tinkering and three months of waiting for someone to connect the right parts of the organ to make it possible, but the results are well worth it.
The whole video is incredibly fascinating, but below are some timestamps for each individual song:
10:53: Rob Scallon - 'Anchor'
12:38: Super Mario Theme
13:27: Necrophagist - 'Stabwound'
14:30: Metallica - 'One'
15:20: Animals As Leaders - 'The Woven Web'
16:50: Queen - 'Bohemian Rhapsody'
Rob has previously uploaded a video taking an in-depth look into the organ instrument itself, crawling through the church's walls to understand how it all works. Mind-blowing stuff!
