Canadian punk rock icons Billy Talent have released their highly anticipated sixth studio album Crisis Of Faith today. The ten-track Crisis Of Faith was produced entirely by the band’s guitarist and main songwriter, Juno-nominated producer Ian D’Sa, in the band’s Toronto studio.
Prior to release, Crisis of Faith has seen enormous success in its leadup, delivering three #1 radio singles in Canada namely Reckless Paradise, I Beg to Differ (This Will Get Better), and End of Me, featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. These tracks have combined to spend 20 weeks atop the Canadian rock radio charts, with End of Me marking the band’s longest-standing #1 radio single in their career at 11 weeks in the top spot, eclipsing only Reckless Paradise.
The trio of chart-toppers from the same album is a first in Billy Talent’s storied career. The tracks have been just as well-received by fans outside of Canada as well, with significant buzz for the record building with each track that dropped. Most recently, the band released the fiery album track Judged, which arrived with a lyric video that can be seen below!
Of the new album, the band says
“A ‘Crisis of Faith’ is what the last few years have felt like while making this record. It was made while the world was facing some of the toughest obstacles we’ve ever had to endure. It’s filled with snap shots of what it means to be human and the struggles we all face both individually and collectively as people. This record was written from the heart.”
You can hear that sincerity and passion in every note on Crisis Of Faith. Here at Maniacs we've been fans of Billy Talent since day one and this album has only increased our love for the band who were kind enough to share with us their 10 favourite punk rock songs of all time.
