It's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh metal fix on Friday. That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend with some Friday Fire.
With so many new metal releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to. So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday.
Korn - Forgotten
Forgotten follows Start The Healing as our second taste of Korn's 14th studio album Requiem and the thumping track has us extremely excited to hear the rest. A moody, expressive, fuzz-drenched slab of melodic Korn, that features Jonathan Davis in peak form, it is clear that the nu-metal godfathers have not forgotten their place in the metal world. Daddy's home for a Requiem on Friday 4th February. New nu-metal kids, be ready to pay your respects.
MUSE - Won't Stand Down
The moment old-school MUSE fans had been waiting for is here, Matt Bellamy and the guitar have officially and loudly been reacquainted. This groovy, riff-driven monster, was produced by MUSE and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari). It is an arena-ready anthem of chaos with heavy guitars and industrial-like distortions amplifying Matt Bellamy's striking lyrics about taking the power back. It even features a breakdown and some screams, if this is where MUSE is headed next, consider us fucking pumped.
Blood Command - Nuns, Guns & Cowboys
Norwegian death pop outfit have been on a hot streak since ex-Pagan singer, Melbourne's own Nikki Brumen, joined the band last year and the fierce Nuns, Guns & Cowboys continues that trend. The third track to drop (following A Villains Monologue, The End Is Her) from their freshly announced new full-length Praise Armageddonism due July 1st, Nuns, Guns & Cowboys brings together everything great about Blood Command in a fierce, unique, melodic, innovative package of 'fuck yeah' moments. Get ready to Praise Armageddonism.
Landmvrks - Death feat. Drew York (Stray From The Path)
Marseille, France based metalcore stars Landmvrks return with this absolutely crushing new dose of sonic chaos, Death features an inspired guest vocal from human flamethrower Drew York of Stray From The Parth and the coming together of their two world's got not have us more hyped for the release of »Lost In The Waves« (The Complete Edition) on March 18th. Get hyped.
Billy Talent - Judged
Canadian punk rock veterans, Billy Talent come out firing on this frenzied outburst of a song. Clocking in at just over a minute-and-a-half this socio-politically inspired anthem distils everything great about Billy Talent into one thrilling and inspired outpouring of pure discontent for those who know what it is like to be outcast, yet engage in prejudice of their own. This song rips. The band's new album Crisis of Faith drops on January 21st. Consider us ready.
