Ever wanted to know what Metallica's Master Of Puppets would sound like if Slipknot had written it? Well, ponder no more, because emerging TikTok star and unashamedly proud Maggot Devin Taylor (@fountane) has posted a video of himself playing Master Of Puppets in the style of Slipknot and it absolutely rips. The one-minute video which you can watch below features Taylor putting a ferocious spin on the timeless metal anthem, dropping the tuning and speeding it up with some double-kick-driven beats.
@fountane If slipknot wrote master of puppets it’d be better than this, but here’s my take! #slipknot #metallica #masterofpuppets #studio ♬ original sound - Devin Taylor
The video is going viral, having been viewed more than 1.2 million times already, putting Taylor in the spotlight for his obvious musical talents. Taylor captions the video "If Slipknot wrote Master of Puppets it’d be better than this, but here’s my take!". Users are already calling for a full version of the song, with many calling on Corey Taylor to lend his vocal talents to it. Corey is yet to respond but we definitely back calls for a full version of this take on Master Of Puppets.
In other Master Of Puppets news, Trivium and Ibaraki frontman Matt Heafy and YouTube metal mashup monolith Anthony Vincent have joined forces on a video so metal it will tear you asunder. The two metal titans have teamed up to mash the two biggest beneficiaries of the 'Stranger Things bump', Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) by Kate Bush and Master Of Puppets by Metallica into an 80s thrash anthem. Unsurpisingly, given the interpretive talent of the talents in question, it rules, with the track ripping harder than Eddie Munson in the Stranger Things season 4 finale. Check out their version of the song, which also features Steve Terreberry below.

36 years after releasing Master Of Puppets Metallica has issued an official lyric video for the iconic track. The first official music video for Master Of Puppets of any kind was animated by ILOVEDUST and it is a trippy delight, perfect for projecting onto a wall at a Stranger Things-themed party.
One of the hottest metal songs on the planet, thanks to a Stranger Things-led revival, Master Of Puppets has captured a new generation of metalheads since it was featured prominently in the finale of season four of the popular Netflix show. The climb up the charts has inspired the release of this lyric video, ensuring that a new generation knows all of the words to the song, which remains an untouchable metal classic.
