We've been posting some pretty incredible footage of bands at the beginning of their careers lately, but this one might be the coolest yet; footage of Corey Taylor's first-ever show with Slipknot in 1997 has been getting shared around after surfacing last year, and it's bloody amazing.
Taking place on August 24 at the Safari Club in Des Moines, Iowa, an eager crowd chant Slipknot before the band take to the stage with Corey to blow everyone away with songs from their 1996 demo Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat., and another unreleased demo tape Crowz, which featured their previous vocalist Anders Colsefni on the recordings. Corey's facepaint also looks like an early iteration of the mask he wore during their self-titled cycle.
Again, we're talking about 21 years ago when audio and video quality wasn't super crispy, but we reckon the rawness makes it even better. Check it out!
What a time to be alive! Thanks, internet.
Listen to Slipknot now.
