Vended the band featuring the sons of Slipknot's Corey Tayor and Shawn 'Clown' Crahan has dropped their new single Asylum.
Featuring Griffin Taylor on vocals and Simon Crahan on the drums, Asylum is an alt-metal rager highlighted by Griffin's vitriolic vocals, which it has to be said are eerily reminiscent of his old man's early efforts. Simon's contributions are equally vital to the sonic mix, with his bombastic drumming creating a thunderous rhythm over which the remainder of the band drops some serious instrumental chops. Guitarists Cole Espeland and Connor Grodzicki deliver some memorable leads and bassist Jeramiah Pugh offering so much more than just the basic route notes.
While it is hard to avoid the obvious comparisons to both Slipknot and Stone Sour, you have to give credit to Vended for endeavouring to cultivate something unique here and despite the vocal tonalities they do manage to sound for the most part like themselves, which is something that Griffin has been adamant about since forming the band.

The release of Asylum is a big moment for Vended, who made their live debut supporting Slipknot in Des Moines, Iowa last year.
Corey Taylor who has been in a feud with MGK of late played the role of a supportive father on Twitter encouraging everyone to check out the track.
