Trivium's Matt Heafy has shared a heartfelt acoustic rendition of Depeche Mode's Sweetest Perfection. The cover comes just over a month since the passing of Depeche Mode member Andy Fletcher. As with all things Matthew K Heafy has turned his hand to of late, it is well worth the watch.
The original version of Sweetest Perfection appears on Depeche Mode's 1990 record Violator. Heafy's musical tribute to one of alt music's great acts, comes only two weeks after he released the blistering solo single Perpetual Hate. Further showcasing the diversity of both his musical taste and talent.
Heafy is one busy man, in addition to Perpetual Hate, and the debut Ibaraki album Heafy also recently released a digital EP consisting of five acoustic reimaginings of songs off of Trivium's 10th studio album, In The Court Of The Dragon.
Listen to Heafy play In The Court Of The Dragon, Feast Of Fire, The Shadow Of The Abbatoir, No Way Back Just Through and The Phalanx below.
The EP is yet another example of Heafy's tireless work ethic and off-the-wall creativity levels and follows his recent uploads of covers of tracks from The Witcher and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Trivium released their 10th full-length album In The Court Of The Dragon last October. We spoke to bass player Paulo Gregoletto about making the album and he filled us in on everything else that had been going on in the Trivium camp/\.
