It is a say day in the metal world. Trevor Strnad vocalist for melodic death metallers The Black Dahlia Murder has died at the age of 41.
The band confirmed the news of Strnad's tragic passing on their Instagram. In a post that you can see below, which was accompanied by an image of a black square, the band paid tribute to their beloved singer
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad. Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy. It was his life to be your show."
Strnad’s cause of death has not been disclosed, but the band ended their statement with contact information for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
A founding member of The Black Dahlia Murder, Strnad leaves a big hole in the metal community, with the much-loved frontman's passing inspiring bandmates and many of his contemporaries to post tribute messages to their fallen friend. You can view a selection of these tributes below.
So sad to hear about the passing of Trevor from The Black Dahlia Murder. Absolutely horrible. He was such a sweet guy. Had him on my podcast about 10 months ago, he was very open about struggling with depression. It’s a sad day for the Metal community
