90s alt-rock pioneers The Smashing Pumpkins have just announced a new album called 'Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.', which will feature eight tracks and be released on November 18. What makes this album even more interesting is that it will be the first record in 18 years to feature the original lineup (Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlain, Jeff Schroeder)
Following the release of their first single from the album 'Solara', they've dropped a second cut in advance, 'Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)', which reminds us a lot of earlier tracks like '1979' in its gliding and mid-paced feel. Have a listen and see what you think:
The album was recorded by the legendary Rick Rubin and contains 8 new tracks. Originally, the Pumpkins were planning two record two new four-track EPs, but it looks like the ideas were combined into this one release (it would also explain the title).
