The Osbournes are back! Ozzy, Sharon and the kids will return to reality TV for the first time since The Osbournes wrapped in 2005, with the launch of the new reality series Home To Roost.
The ten-part series, Home To Roost will see the family return to the UK, after twenty years of living in the USA. It will follow the family as they celebrate one of their most important years yet - with everything from Sharon’s 70th birthday to Kelly’s soon-to-be-born baby, Ozzy’s tour, and of course the big move itself.
Offering a slightly different approach to the groundbreaking and often chaotic original series The Osbournes, Home To Roost promises a more genuine portrait of Sharon and Ozzy as they face up to the challenges of getting older, but with the usual Osbourne eccentricities, humour, warmth and love.
Home to Roost is being produced by Expectation and will air via the BBC across broadcast and digital outlets. In a statement, Claire Sillery, the Head of Commissioning, Documentaries at the BBC shared “I’m delighted that the Osbournes will be sharing this next chapter in their lives with BBC viewers in what promises to be a funny, moving and honest insight into their new life in the UK.”
Home To Roost will be a collaboration between Expectation’s Factual and Entertainment teams, Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, Creative Directors, Expectation says: “Rejoining the Osbournes as they return to the UK is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Twenty years ago, they shaped television for all of us - now they’re coming home at a different stage in their lives but with the promise of the same laughter, love and tears. We can’t wait to work with them and to share it with BBC One viewers in 2023.”
The show's announcement comes as Ozzy Osbourne is gearing up to release Patient Number 9.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter's new album and the first since his critically acclaimed, worldwide, chart-topping 2020 Ordinary Man release., Patient Number 9 was written by Ozzy, Watt, Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith and Ali Tamposi and features a riveting solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck. The video marks the first collaboration from the project with Emmy-and Grammy-winning director/producer Todd McFarlane. It is highlighted by McFarlane’s signature illustrations interspersed with live Ozzy vignettes in the role of Patient Number 9, which the revolutionary creative force in the world of comics and toys also filmed. In addition, this is the first-ever video to incorporate Ozzy’s artwork: his hand-drawn demons were animated and can be seen during the Jeff Beck solo in the song.
Ozzy shares
“Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honor. There’s no other guitar player that plays like him and his solo on Patient Number 9 is just jaw-dropping.”
