Our very own The Amity Affliction are the latest band to get into the grog game with the fresh announcement of the Youngbloods Shiraz, which is great news for those who aren't into Marilyn Manson's absinthe or Slipknot's whiskey.
Amity's new wine is a collaboration with Australian winemakers Built To Spill Wine, who explain:
"This life is for the keeping, this wine is for the dreamers. We teamed up with The Amity Affliction and Rikard Wines to bring you the Youngbloods Shiraz, just in time to celebrate the 10 year anniversary. This release has two different labels, designed by Ahren and Joel, collect the set, pour out a glass or two and listen back on a solid gold slice of metalcore history.
Wild fermented fruit from Hilltops, NSW that makes for a medium weighted Shiraz with forest berries & white pepper characters and a hint of fresh herbs. Juicy, soft acid gives the wine a drinkable plushness that finishes with medium intensity & good length. Youngbloods young hearts alike, let the fires burn inside your glass."
There are two different labels available with different artwork from Amity members Joel Birch and Ahren Stringer, along with t-shirts and tote bags if you're in the market for some more merch. Pre-orders can be made over on the Built To Spill Wine website, with limited stock and a mid-late November window.
If Amity were ever going to sell alcohol, it was always going to be wine (who still jams 'Fruity Lexia'?), but you love to see it. Youngbloods also celebrated its 10th birthday back in June. We'll drink to that!
Listen to The Amity Affliction now.
