While reading the words 'Hurdy-Gurdy' might initially direct your mind to a certain Swedish chef from the Muppets, it's actually the name of a stringed instrument operated by turning a hand crank that was hugely popular during the European renaissance (15th/16th centuries).
With such a unique sound and history behind it, hurdy-gurdy player and YouTuber Michalina Malisz has satisfied everyone's curiosity by playing 5 different Slipknot riffs on the instrument including 'Pyschosocial', 'Dead Memories', 'Unsainted' and a couple of others.
Michalina demonstrates excellent control over her instrument and the end result is actually pretty rad!
Have a watch:
This isn't the first time she's attempted metal on a hurdy-hurdy either, also giving other bands like System Of A Down and Lamb Of God a crack too.
Definitely head over to her channel to catch more weird and wonderful experiments!
