In some pretty unfortunate news to surface overnight, Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn aka #3 has officially left the band following a legal feud with other members over the past few days.
According to various sources, Chris allegedly sued other members of Slipknot over unpaid wages relating to touring and merchandise.
The band have issued the following statement:
“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6 and our upcoming shows around the world—our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life. Long live the knot.”
Chris Fehn had been in Slipknot since 1998, and appeared on all of their albums since their self-titled studio debut in 1999. There's no word on plans of a replacement #3, but with the band gearing up to release a new album in August and a bunch of huge tours including Australia with Metallica in October, we'll surely find out soon.
Listen to Slipknot now.
