The countdown clock on Slipknot's mysterious new website has ticked over and resulted in a double-headed announcement from the band; their new album has an official release date of August 9, and they'll also be touring the US around that time with a huge bill that includes Behemoth, Gojira and Volbeat. Unfortunately, there's no further update on the album title or the new masks yet, but there should be some more details to follow in the coming months.

It's a long way away, but you would think that there will be another single or two at the very least before August. In the meantime, you'll have to keep spinning their latest single 'All Out Life' which came out in Halloween last year and is expected to be a part of the record.
