Everyone knows Serj Tankian as System Of A Down's eccentric vocalist, but as he reveals in a new trailer for his upcoming documentary Truth to Power, his first gig as a musician was playing keyboard in a band called Forever Young.
The group only played one show at the Armenian Cultural Center in Hollywood, and they did songs in both English and Armenian languages.
“The first band that I ever played in was called Forever Young, I started playing keyboards with them. The one and only show that we ever played was at the Armenian Cultural Center in Hollywood. It was an interesting start ‘cause, first of all, we were doing songs in English and Armenian, ‘cause that really was our lives as young Armenian-Americans growing up in Los Angeles. We were part of both cultures simultaneously."

Truth to Power will aim to document Serj Tankian's movements to awaken a political revolution on the other side of the world, inspiring Armenia's struggle for democracy through his music and message. It will be out on "digital theaters" on February 19 - more specifics of where to catch it will undoubtedly be revealed over the coming week.
Serj is also gearing up to release his solo EP Elasticity, which will be comprised of songs he was going to use on the new System Of A Down record that never came. You can check out the title track here!
