  • Metalcore Mainstays The Word Alive Have Recovered Their Stolen Gear And Made Friends With The Thieves!

    American Metalcore mainstays, The Word Alive have recovered all of the gear that was stolen from them last week, locating the stolen equipment thanks to the help of some carefully concealed Apple AirTags. 



    In a delightful twist, that speaks to their good nature and empathy, the band then made friends out of the thieves! 



    After failing to get the Police to show any interest in their plight at all (an infuriatingly common experience for touring bands),  the band arranged to meet up with the thieves, making a peace offering of weed, whiskey and $20 in exchange for the return of their gear. The thieves then tried to sign The World Alive to their fledgling indie label, because they 'needed a rock band'. 



    This very rare feel-good ending to an all too common problem of gear theft was chronicled on social media by the band via vocalist Tyler 'Telle' Smith 

    The band has since taken to social media to clarify that they aren't 'friends' with the thieves, but that it was best for all sides to just let it be and carry on with their lives, unharmed. 

    This is the second time in recent memory that a band has recovered their stolen gear thanks to the help of Apple AirTags, following Citizen doing the same.  So if tou're in a touring band and one of you has an Apple device, it might be a worthwhile investment to pick up a bunch and stash them sneakily in your gear.
