He once asked us to "walk with him in hell", now Lamb of God's Randy Blythe is officially able to help you walk down the aisle. now Lamb of God's Randy Blythe is officially able to help you walk down the aisle.
Blythe is now a registered wedding celebrant and has put that certification to good use on Lamb of God's Headbangers Boat cruise, officiating the wedding between two Lamb of God fans.
Per reports from Consequence, the wedding came about when the Groom, Ro Kohli met the bride Bic on OK Cupid after missing out on tickets to a Lamb of God show on the night of Halloween in 2012. Given the band's role in the couple coming together, they felt it only natural they celebrate their nuptials with Blythe (in full Elvis Presley getup) overseeing the special moment. The night was made all the more sweet for the couple given that it took place exactly eleven years to the date they first met.
Photographer Kevin Wilson was among those in attendance on the cruise and Revolver has shared his photos of the wedding, which was Blythe's first time acting as celebrant on social media.
The inaugural Headbangers Boat cruise featured Lamb of God, Testament, Gwar, Mastodon, Hatebreed and more.
The cruise follows the GRAMMY® Award-nominated metal titans recently sharing the single Evidence. Originally recorded during the sessions for their acclaimed 2022 opus and ninth full-length LP, Omens.
Regarding the single, vocalist Randy Blythe shared, “One of the more baffling aspects of modern-day life is the conscious rejection of empirical facts in favour of Internet echo chamber emotional security blankets. Truth is not subjective, no matter how uncomfortable that makes some people. Art is though, so enjoy the song, however you may choose to interpret it.”
Exploding as a signature Lamb of God pit-starter, Evidence barges in with a pummelling polyrhythmic groove fortified by airtight riffing. Against this backdrop, Blythe’s apocalyptic observations cut deep as he muses, “The road to hell is paved with bad concessions,” before repeating on the refrain, “The body politic has decomposed.” It culminates on one last burst of cathartic energy baptized in distortion and venomous screams.
Alongside the new single the band shared their Making Of: Omens documentary-wide for the first time. Initially released last year on-demand for a limited one-month release alongside physical CD and Vinyl merch bundles, Making Of: Omens takes you inside the writing and recording process of Omens.
