The New York Yankees have released their 2023 opening day hype video, and be still our beating emo hearts, it is set to My Chemical Romance's Welcome To The Black Parade. Yep, even baseball is emo now.
The world's most famous baseball club published the video today in honour of their opening-day fixture against the San Francisco Giants.
Featuring a movie-trailer-style voiceover set to the song's iconic intro, the hype video consists of a collage of historical Yankees footage, paying tribute not just to the baseball players but to the fans who fill the stands of their home stadium in The Bronx.
The video ends in a rather celebratory manner, displaying classic Yankees victories as Welcome To The Black Parade hits its legendary finale.

The hype video is just the latest in a series of milestones for My Chemical Romance who just left Australian audiences amazed with a run of critically acclaimed live shows. The success of the six-show arena run that saw them supported by Jimmy Eat World is further testament to just how big they've become during their absence, as a new generation has gravitated towards their music.
The band released their first new original song since 2014, The Foundations of Decay last year.
Slow building, brooding, anthemic, drenched in emotion and yet somehow still bleeding jubilation, the six-minute track is a reminder of why My Chemical Romance are the undisputed icons of the MySpace era.
