Frank Iero has publicly called out LEGO for demanding the takedown of the video for L.S. Dunes' song Grey Veins.
The reason for the takedown request is apparently that Grey Veins utilises several pieces of LEGO to further its narrative, which involves Iero and his fellow L.S. Dunes bandmembers in faux-military attire, working with an army of LEGO people to assemble a giant LEGO Robot to protect them from a monster sent to destroy them. With the help of the LEGO people and the robot's massive keytar taser, L.S Dunes emerge victorious over the monster. You can watch the video below.
According to Iero LEGO have demanded the removal of the video from YouTube, which has clearly angered the lifelong LEGO superfan, who has taken to social media to publicly appeal to the company to let the video remain in the public sphere.
Iero's appeal, which he posted to Twitter, states "Dear Lego, why are you having your lawyers call my record label and demand we take down the L.S. Dunes music video we made for our song Grey Veins? As a card carrying Lego VIP and lifelong creator and builder I am hurt and wildly confused. I have spent more hours than I can calculate, not to mention thousand upon thousands of dollars over the years, buying and building your sets as a child, a teenager, a semi-adult, and now as a dad who builds with his son.
An eleven-year-old who loves Legos more than anyone I have ever met. My family and I have vacationed at Legoland and my other band has been voted into your Lego Ideas program by 10k supporters as a potential future build set.
I love your company because you gave us bricks and taught us we didn't have to accept the world as it was, we could see what was possible and build it ourselves. I have taken that inspiration and created a universe of my own and now you want to squash it, why?

An emo supergroup, L.S. Dunes features Iero, of My Chemical Romance fame, guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria), vocalist Anthony Green (Circa Survive), bassist Tim Payne (Thursday), and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday). Grey Veins appears on their debut album, Past Lives, which is out now.
Unshackled from the expectations and aesthetics of their already successful careers, L.S. Dunes super-charges their heavy anthems with punk energy into a sound, unlike anything that has come before it.
Iero was last in Australia with My Chemical Romance who left Australian audiences amazed with a run of critically acclaimed live shows. The success of the six-show arena run that saw them supported by Jimmy Eat World is a further testament to just how big they've become during their absence, as a new generation has gravitated towards their music. The band released their first new original song since 2014, The Foundations of Decay last year.
Slow building, brooding, anthemic, drenched in emotion and yet somehow still bleeding jubilation, the six-minute track is a reminder of why My Chemical Romance are the undisputed icons of the MySpace era.
