YouTuber Jared Dines has let slip on social media that he has started a band with former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones, and that the songs they have been working on together sound akin to Howard-era Killswitch!
Whether the unnamed project will be limited to a one-off online collaboration or become something more involved remains to be seen, but Jared says there are 7 songs the two have completed together:
Who remembers 'Howard Jones era' Killswitch Engage?!
Who wants to hear more music like that WITH THE MAN HIMSELF Howard Jones but also with ........ MYSELF?!
..well shit, you might like these 7 songs we're sitting on then! ;)— Jared Dines (@JaredDines) June 22, 2020
The two had previously crossed paths during a US Trivium tour in 2018, where Howard had taken on vocal duties in place of Matt Heafy who had to fly home for the birth of his twins, and Jared had been following the band on tour to make videos for his channel. The two ended up performing on stage together multiple times.
On top of that, he's also revealed that he's got some tracks with Matt Heafy ready to go, as well as a second EP with the Trivium frontman in the works as well:
Who's been waiting on @matthewkheafy and I to make original heavy fucking music together?!
WE DID!!!
..2 years ago!! (hopefully out soon)
Would you believe me if I said I'm already 2 songs deep into the 2nd ep with him?!— Jared Dines (@JaredDines) June 22, 2020
You want more epic crossovers? Well you know those Shred Collaboration videos Dines puts out every year? Turns out he has an entire album's worth of that ready to go as well, featuring a ton of YouTube shredders:
Ya'll remember the biggest shred collab songs I do every year? Well, who wants a BIGGEST SHRED COLLAB ALBUM?!
..What's that?! It's already been finished for weeks?!
..It has people such as Stevie T, Angel Vivaldi, Matt Heafy, Cole Rolland, Berried Alive, Andy James, and more?!— Jared Dines (@JaredDines) June 22, 2020
That's one hell of a work ethic! Guess if we got to collaborate with Trivium and Killswitch members we'd be pretty driven too.
