Grindcore legends Napalm Death have dropped a new track titled 'A Bellyful Of Salt And Spleen', and along with the previous few singles released from their upcoming sixteenth record Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism, this new cut sees a complete departure from their signature breakneck grindcore with a dark and sludgy doom atmosphere.
While Napalm Death have experimented with industrial gloominess much earlier in their discography (2005's 'Atheist Runt' comes to mind), vocalist Barney Greenway uses a droning, ritualistic vocal style instead of the usual frenzied bark for something that results in a combination of Godflesh and Swans - bands which have definitely influenced Napalm Death over the years.

Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism is due out on September 18 through Nuclear Blast, and it will follow up their last studio album Apex Predator - Easy Meat from 2015.
