The internet has agreed that cats are metal AF, now certified god of metal, Rob Halford of Judas Priest has confirmed it.
The metal legend has bestowed names upon a litter of adorable, adoptable and now livestream watchable cats at a rescue shelter in Los Angeles.
The naming ceremony took place at Kitten Rescue, a Los Angeles-based non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. The cats can now be watched via the organisation’s live kitten cam room which you can watch below.
To help you keep track of who is who, a description of each kitten and the name that Halford gave to them can be found below.
- Taylor, an orange-and-white male whose name is a tribute to Taylor Hawkins
- Turbo, a calico female whose name references Judas Priest’s Turbo Lover
- Angel, a female white/cream whose name references Judas Priest’s Angel of Retribution
- Starbreaker, or Star, a male black-and-white whose name references Judas Priest’s Sin After Sin
- Rocker, an orange male whose name references Judas Priest’s I’m a Rocker
- Mama Rose, the kittens’ mother, whose name references Judas Priest’s Last Rose of Summer
Halford donated his personal collection of autographed cat T-shirts to the rescue, with proceeds to benefit Kitten Rescue. You can bid on them via Kitten Rescue’s auction site.
