It's the end of a Max Caval-era, as the legendary musician has gone and chopped off his mega dreadlock that he had been growing since 1997. His wife Gloria Cavalera took to Instagram to break the news, with a photo showing her holding the freshly-cut dread next to a smiling Max (probably a few kilos less he has to carry around every day now) with the caption "It must be snowing in hell today!".
There might be some naysayers out there who don't think a haircut is newsworthy, but this monstrous lock of hair defined Max Cavalera's look for over 20 years, damn it, and may have even given him some sort of super powers. Maybe it was time to get rid of it anyway - it was probably starting to become a sentient animal of its own!
All jokes aside, it probably wasn't easy to part with something after 23 years, and there's probably no going back for the Sepultura, Soulfly, Killer Be Killed and Cavalera Conspiracy musician now. Enjoy that fresh new head, Max - you look great!
