Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has released an Ascendancy acoustic EP, featuring four songs from the band's seminal 2005 record - 'Rain', 'Dying In Your Arms', 'Suffocating Sight' and 'Departure'.
Heafy has also said that he'll be releasing an acoustic EP of every Trivium album (except for What The Dead Men Say) each Friday, so fingers crossed we get The Crusade and Shogun next!
The acoustic versions are obviously pretty stripped back, but with the odd scream here and there from Matt, and some pretty hilarious trumpet mouth sounds during 'Diya' - listen below with timestamps:
0:00 - Rain
4:33 - Dying In Your Arms
7:20 - Suffocating Sight
11:09 - Departure
We included Ascendancy in our list of the best metalcore albums of all time, and we still spin it regularly today!
