Perth-based progressive melodic hardcore (yes, it's a thing now!) crew Surroundings have revealed a great new track titled The River's Edge. The track premiered via the Dreambound Youtube channel on January 19.
The River's Edge is from the band's forthcoming album Glass Heart due out March 1 and sees the band adding a fresh sonic dimension to their sound, incorporating big chorus hooks to connect with a personal message. Take a listen now and let us know what you think!
"Sometimes each day is a cycle of clock in, clock out, go home. It's a crushing mindset to be in with nothing to show for it." Explains vocalist Nick Roberts.
"It can be overwhelming. But there's a feeling that no matter how tough it gets, as long as you hold on to a freedom in your mind, as long as you can take it one day at a time, you're not completely lost. It's the feeling that there's always going to be a part of your mind that's just for you."
Glass Heart is the result of two years of songwriting and personal development for Surroundings and sees the band mark their return with a reshaped and reformed sound. Keep an ear out for the entire record on March 1st!
