    14-year-old drummer Maren Alford is no joke behind the kit, proving herself with a huge cover of Slipknot's 'Unsainted' which went somewhat viral over the past couple of weeks.

    As it turns out, Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg also took notice of the teenager's skills and invited her to hang out before the band's Knotfest show in Dallas! 

    Maren posted some photos of the encounter to her Facebook page with the following caption:

    Best day EVER hanging out with Jay Weinberg before KNOTFEST in Dallas! Not only is he a beast behind the kit, but he’s also the most encouraging, kind and generous guy! Really a dream come true to meet and spend time with him and the Slipknot show was INCREDIBLE! THANK YOU for everything Jay - you’re the BEST! So much love for my SJC Custom Drums family! #jayweinberg #slipknot #sjcfamily #sjcdrums 

     

    A very great gesture from Jay and a some very deserved recognition for such a beast of a drum cover!

    Maren definitely has a very bright future ahead of her, and we can't wait to see where her drumming takes her!
