Rap punk trio Ho99o9 have just dropped a new two-track 7" EP to benefit the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Campaign Zero, Advancement Project and the National Black Disability Coalition.
The first track on the EP, 'Christopher Dorner', sees the group bust out the guitar and get furious in a straight whirlwind of hardcore punk energy.
Of course, the song is named after the polarising Christopher Dorner, who went on a murder spree against ex-colleagues in the LAPD after being terminated in 2008. His whole story can be read about here.
'Pray or Prey' is the second track and is a much more subdued hip hop affair, but it's pretty cool to hear the juxtaposition of both tracks on the same release. Here's that one:
Ho99o9 have drummed up quite a name for themselves in the heavy music world, having previously toured with the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Korn, Alice In Chains, Three Days Grace and Avenged Sevenfold.
