Frontwoman extraordinaire Lzzy Hale shared the news with the band's legion of fans stating
“After years of keepin’ the faith, we are finally returning to Australia and New Zealand to bring the Rock!”
“Thank you so much to all of our die hard fans for keepin’ the torch lit for us!!”
Maniacs has a long and storied history with the band, which we extended even further in our latest feature interview with Lzzy Hale which you can watch below.
During the wide-ranging interview, the ever personable Lzzy gives us insight into the mental space that conjured the collection of resilient hard rock anthems that make up Back From The Dead.
"Personally, I mean, if I can get you know, personal with you and you know, I promise I won't get too too deep down the rabbit hole but I was going through somewhat of an identity crisis. I got reacquainted with panic attacks that I hadn't had since I was in high school. Um, you know, definitely bouts of depression and and you know, anxiety which which always looms its head but you always have these other things in your life that distract you from it. So all of my other tools, you know, and, and weapons in my arsenal, were no longer really at my disposal to do that. So I really had to kind of deal with a lot of things that maybe I hadn't dealt with or maybe I've never dealt with"
Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Alice in Chains) with co-production by Scott Stevens (, Daughtry, New Years Day), according to frontwoman and modern rock icon Lzzy Hale Back From The Dead, much of which was written and produced throughout COVID lockdown is a journey of sonic catharsis.
“Back From The Dead is a journey of navigating mental health, debauchery, survival, redemption, rediscovery, and still maintaining faith in humanity."
Back From The Dead was proceeded by two monstrous singles in the form of The Steeple and Back From The Dead.
The Steeple's celebratory vibe locks in perfectly with the previous single Back From The Dead which Lzzy explained was inspired by resilience and survival.
Back From the Dead’ is about survival, not in a physical sense, even though I know we all have been touched by death especially these last few years. This song is personal and written from a mental health perspective. I wanted to give myself and the world a hard rock song we could shout out loud as the gates opened again. I was on the edge of this world getting completely lost in oblivion, but even though it was the harder of two choices, I didn’t just let the darkness and depression in my mind dig me an early grave. I didn’t just sit and let it take me. I’ve erased my name from my headstone, so save your prayers, I’m back! I hope this song, as I pass it on to you, reminds YOU of your strength individually and that you are not alone.”
