Over the weekend metal titans, Gojira released a brand new music video for their song, The Chant. The cinematic clip landed the day of the release of their seventh studio album, Fortitude and tells the moving story of a Tibetan child smuggled out of the country in a crate.
Upon opening, the titles exclaim, "In a desperate attempt to preserve their culture, Tibetan families sent their children to safety in Nepal, Bhutan and India."
The Chant is a melodic and hypnotising track that has been declared by the band as a "Healing ritual." When we spoke to Gojira bassist Mario Duplantier last week, he described the chant as, "Really uplifting, it's almost like a mantra of positivity. It's something we love to hear, something we love to play and we really hope the people will sing with us. It will be a sharing moment, I hope."
