So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday 26th November.
Future Static- Waves
Future Static dropped Waves on Wednesday with the Melbourne-based alternative-heavy band and recent Wild Thing Music Group signees, busting out an innovative mix of sounds to create a song that is as interesting as it is anthemic.
Opening with thunderous drums, Waves aptly crashes into a wall of searing guitars and thudding bass, paving the way for newly appointed frontwoman, Amariah Cook, to showcase her sweeping and eclectic depth. As the track unfolds, structure and dynamics are harnessed with finesse, navigated by the deft instrumentation of the band, while the enigmatic vocalist effortlessly switches in between her immense screaming range and hypnotic clean melodies. Reliqa- The Bearer Of Bad News
The outrageously talented Sydney based four-piece Reliqa dropped The Bearer Of Bad News this week. The progressive metallers hit new heights on The Bearer Of Bad News, a track that acts as your invitation into the depths of the sinister and occult. Reliqa’s latest work is a transcendental exploration into the dark art of deception, spun with themes of control and manipulation. Time and time again the pursuit of power has spiralled into catastrophe, and as these tables turn, so too does The Bearer Of Bad News packed to the brim with subversive excitement. Trying their hand with ethnic soundscapes and darker, harrowing rhythmic motifs, the band are digging deeper into their forward-thinking alt. prog sound. Reliqa have imagined a visceral, enigmatic projection of our world, and in doing so pose the challenge – question everything.
Terra- Arrows Ft. Daniel Cullen-Richards
Melbourne alternative rock outfit Terra announced their new EP Reverie this week. Set to drop on February 4th 2022 Reverie is turbulent and angst fuelled, taking the listener on an emotional journey. The video for the first single Arrows dropped today and this song sets the tone for Reverie, with the driving rhythm providing the perfect backdrop for the oldest lyrics on the 6 track EP.
Arrows is an up-tempo, high energy alternative rock anthem, which sees Terra really carving out their sound. Arrows showcases the strong vocals of Cassie Jade, who delivers the best performance of her career so far. The track features guest vocals from Alt's Daniel Cullen-Richards.
Pridelands- The Lake Of Twisted Limbs
Pridelands announced a new album Light Bends will be out on January 14th via Resist Records in Australia and Sharptone in the rest of the world. The announcement came accompanied by a video for the brand new single The Lake Of Twisted Limbs. The first of what vocalist Joshua Corey says are 11 stylistically different songs on Light Bends, The Lake Of Twisted Limbs is an emotive, atmospheric track full of dynamic twists that showcases the bands evolving talent as songwriters and musicians. The melodies and the meaning are deep and the clip is spectacular. This is by far the best and most interesting thing that Pridelands have ever done. Consider us very excited for Light Bends and you should be too.
Saviour - Reshape Me
New Greyscale Records signees Saviour step thing up a level with Reshape Me. The band continue building upon the etherial collision of aggressive post-hardcore and atmospheric electronic sounds and duel female/male vocals that has been their trademark for over a decade on Reshape Me, tightening it up with a more refined songwriting approach and the best performances of their career. A heartfelt track about lacking confidence and feeling like a fragmented version of yourself, Reshape Me is an absolute winner from Saviour.
