It's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh metal fix on Friday. That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend with some Friday Fire.
With so many new metal releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to. So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday.
Cradle of Filth - Necromantic Fantasies
Cradle of Filth delve deep into their goth-metal grab bag on Necromantic Fantasies and the results are nothing short of splendid. Accompanied by a fittingly dark and romantic video this seductive song is our second taste of the upcoming Existence Is Futile album and follows the more intense Crawling King Chaos. Let it lure you in.
Every Time I Die- Planet Shit
Planet Shit is our latest taste of the Buffalo veterans forthcoming album Radical. Planet Shit is Every Time I Die in peak form, with southern rock-infused leads making way for a frantic hardcore jam, as vocalist Keith Buckley takes an unflinching look at the inevitable social upheaval born of generations of inequity. Radical is out October 22nd via Epitaph.
Employed To Serve - Mark Of The Grave
Employed To Serve dropped their gargantuan new album Conquering today, a fully realized metamorphosis into the band they’ve always wanted to be. Drawing influence from the music of their youth and a new perspective on how to nurture the positive aspects of humanity and individual growth, Conquering is a celebration and acknowledgement of triumph in the face of a world that can be relentlessly adversarial. Mark Of The Grave is prime example of that notion and a wonderful introduction into the world of Employed To Serve for the uninitiated.
Comeback Kid - No Easy Way Out
Winnipeg melodic hardcore legends Comeback Kid comeout spinkicking on No Easy Way Out this first new music since 2017's Outsider. All frenetic riffs, impassioned vocals and thunderous breakdowns, this is Comeback Kid doing what they do best, absolutely dominating. We can't wait to shout the refrain 'no easy, no easy wait out' from the front of the pit when they make it back to our shores. A video will be out tomorrow, but for now, open up the pit by listening below.
The Amity Affliction- Like Love
The Amity Affliction's first new song since 2020's Everyone Loves You...Once You Leave ThemLike Love was written by co-vocalist Joel Birch for bandmate Ahren Stringer about the passing of their dear friend, Sean 'SK' Kennedy (former bassist IKTPQ, Deez Nuts). Like Love's deeply personal and powerful emotional message, continues The Amity Affliction's unfiltered approach to songwriting. The song shifts between positive and negative, hope and hopelessness, and draws on an intimate knowledge of drug use and depression and how the two are often inextricably linked in their personal devastation, while also acknowledging the peace for those who suffer once they are gone. Like Love is accompanied by an official video that was written and directed by Joel Birch.
