A couple of months ago when Lamb of God were on tour in Australia, we were lucky enough to sit down and have a chat with John and Mark! Check out what they had to say.

John: Hey this is John from Lamb of God

Mark: And Im Mark from Lamb of God

John:And we are in Australia, here to say hello.

Q: Hows the tour going so far?

John: So far the tour is wonderful. Glad you asked. We started in Auckland , then played a show in Brisbane, Sydney last night and now were onto Melbourne. This is actually a wonderful place to tour and Melbourne is a wonderful city to be in.

Q: So whats your favourite city been?

    John: Its Marks favourite city.

Mark: Its probably not my favourite city in the world, but its a good town.

John: Its a very nice Australian city.

    Mark: Better than Sydney.

Q: So you guys tour Australia quite regularly, what makes you come back?

John: Contracts (laughs). I dont think weve been here in two years or so.

Mark: We were here Soundwave of 2012.

John: All right so a year and a half-ish. We fell in love with Australia when we first toured here. You guys have got the great accents, the great personalities and the beautiful country and its just the attitude here, we really feel at home.

Q: Ok cool so you guys do a lot of touring, have you ever seen anything really weird at any of your shows? Any crazy fans doing anything?

Mark: No (laughs). Yeah I mean there was the dude who came on stage with colostomy bags, wheelchair, crowd surfing, fake limbs, signing prothetic limbs yeah, and other body parts which is really kind of odd if you think about it. Yeah lots of crazy stuff.

John: Is this about the paranormal and the weird kind of stuff? What was the name of the place we played? Um, the old hospitalWaverley Hills, if you look for it on the internet you can find some really interesting video of shadow figures.

Mark: I believe it was a tuberculosis hospital in the early 1900s

John: The sanatorium?…Yes and it was to treat people with tuberculosis before they figured out you could inject drugs that would take care of it.

Mark: We took a tour but we didnt see any ghosts but we did play a show there

John: It was part of thewhat festival was that thats not around anymore?

    Mark: Sounds of the Underground.

John: Yeah, it was supposedly a very haunted place.

Q: When youre not playing, whos your favourite band to see play?

John: I dont really see that much live music when Im not playing, it consumes my work life and a lot of times going to see a band is not exactly what I would want to do

Mark: I recently saw a Led Zeppelin tribute band because I like Led Zeppelin quite a lot. My favourite modern band is probably the Black Crows. But lately Ive been listening to the Brian Jones Sound Massacre quite a bit, but Ive never seen them live. Theyre touring Australia in December.

Q: So ah do you guys have any plans in the works for a new record, is there anything that you can tell us?

Mark: I can tell you that we intend to do another record.

John: We do. We have talked about it in the abstract as far as sort of how, sort of where, sort of when

Q: Ok. So are you guys fans of horror movies or cult films or anything like that?

John: I have a terrible attention span and I hate to admit that but a lot of times I dont make it through a lot of movies but the Hell Raiser series was a favourite of mine back in the day. You know I should probably go out and buy that and sit down and watch that movie.

Q: So how is it touring with the Meshuggah guys, are they all right?

John: Eh, theyre alright. (laughs) Nah the Meshuggah guys are great. Were finally able to tour with Meshuggah, we had met them over the years touring at festivals and have wanted to tour with them for a long time and now we finally can but it is wonderful to be touring with like-minded individuals who are incredibly talented musicians.

Mark: But theyre more well-adjusted than we are I think. They are very together cats.

John: They started before we did I think, their band has been around longer than ours.

Mark: They strike me like theyve never ever been a mess and weve never been anything but a mess. So theyre good influences on us.

Q: Do you guys have any pets?

Mark: Yes I have a dog named Curtis Lowe, the finest picker that ever played the blues.

John: Ive got two little dogs that drive me crazy more often than not.

Q: So what makes you a Maniac?

John: Drinking off of public transport (laughs)! What makes me a maniac? I dont know, is it for the Maniac to decide?

    Mark: We got kids man

John: Why are you asking me what makes me a maniac? I really liked that Suicidal Tendencies song Suicidal Maniac I guess youd even say? (sings) hes back; a suicidal maniac

Mark: Im missing that one man

    John: Id look into it

Mark: You were really into Suicidal Tendencies though

John: I was actually really into suicidal tendencies for a bit there, that was one of the early obsessions of mine.

    Mark: That was great.
