Deftones are gearing up to release Black Stallion on December 11 - the fully-remixed companion album included with White Pony's 20th Anniversary - and they've now unveiled one of the most intriguing collaborations on the tracklist with The Cure's legendary frontman Robert Smith getting his hands on the album's fuzzed-out interlude 'Teenager'.
The lazy and nostalgic feel of the original track is heightened by added piano and a clearer mixing, making Robert Smith's take on it a very lush one indeed.
Take a listen below:
This is now the third remix to be revealed so far, with Mike Shinoda's 'Passenger' remix and Purity Ring's version of 'Knife Prty' before it.
There are some other incredible artists who feature on Black Stallion that we are yet to hear, inluding DJ Shadow, Squarepusher and Clams Casino. Between this and their stunning new studio album Ohms, it certainly has been a massive year for Deftones!
