Earlier today, Deftones dropped their first new track in four years called 'Ohms', and it's now officially been revealed to be the title track from their upcoming 9th studio album, due out very soon on September 25!
Along with pre-orders for Ohms now live, there's now a striking new music video for the single packed full of surreal visuals too, which can be seen below:
With the new single, the band turn back towards a riff-driven sound that was less-present on their last album Gore, while vocalist Chino Moreno says guitarist Stephen Carpenter had more direct involvement with Ohms than their previous 2016 effort.
On top of that, Deftones returned to producer Terry Date for this outing, who worked with the band on a number of their earlier albums including Around The Fur and White Pony.
This year also marks the 20-year anniversary of Deftones' monumental album White Pony. In a virtual press conference for the 20th anniversary of the seminal body of work, the band announced that they would be releasing a companion remix album titled Black Stallion, an idea conceived during the original album’s creation. |
