In a recent interview with Resurrection Fest TV, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has given us a neat little update on what we can expect from Slipknot in 2019.
While the interview touched on heaps of different topics, there were some questions thrown in about Slipknot and their plans on recording and touring over the next 12 months. He said:
Next year is a big year for Slipknot. We're definitely thinking about a big world tour...we're going to try and play every place in the world.
When asked about when the next record will be finished, Corey explained:
Probably summer. Well, it all depends on when we get in the studio...right now, the plan is for us to be in the studio early next year. Couple of months to get that going, couple of months to get production, new masks, new outfits, new everything...and hopefully we'll be able to start touring in the summer when the album comes out. I can say right now we had 20 songs that we've demoed...they're really, really good. It'll just come down to which ones come out the best and we'll make an album out of that.
You can check out the entire interview below where Corey also talks about his cooking skills and the progression of Stone Sour over the years (the Slipknot talk begins at 9:10):
Keep in mind that summer is Aussie winter, so we can hopefully expect the new record mid-2019. In the meantime, you can catch Corey with Stone Sour in December when they head to Australia for the first-ever Good Things Festival!
