Big news, Maniacs - Corey Taylor has officially announced his debut solo album CMFT, and it'll be out on October 2!
The Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman has also shared two singles for you to sink your teeth into straight away with both 'Black Eyes Blue' and 'CMFT Must Be Stopped'.
The latter song is a pumping rock anthem featuring Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie, and has arrived with an insane music video featuring cameos from Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God) and Marilyn Manson, and that's just the tip of the iceberg; it seems Corey has roped in half of the metal world to appear in the clip!
Corey's wife Alicia also makes an appearance as a fire-breather among the band as they play through the track.
Watch it below and see how many familiar faces you can spot:
'Black Eyes Blue' demonstrates Corey's range as a vocalist and songwriter, with some pretty uplifting and euphoric rock at play:
The backing band for Corey's solo project consists of guitarists Christian Martucci (Stone Sour) and Zach Throne, bassist Jason Christopher (former Ministry, Prong) and drummer Dustin Robert.
When Maniacs spoke to Corey about the album, he had this to say:
"I didn't want to just put out a watered-down Slpknot or Stone Sour album, I wanted to put out something that would represent me, a whole other side of who I am. Not only as a songwriter, but a song lover"
You can pre-order CMFT right here on the Maniacs store in both CD and vinyl variants, and there are a limited number of autographed copies available too! Use the link below:
