Corey Taylor has released a new music video for the track 'Black Eyes Blue', which was one of two singles initially released with the announcement of his upcoming debut solo album CMFT.
Despite the more euphoric feel of this track compared to the debut single 'CMFT Must Be Stopped', the new video sees an anxious and trapped Corey try to muster the courage to leave his house but failing multiple times until the end. It's a poignant clip during the current time of pandemics and lockdowns - have a watch below:
Corey Taylor recently spoke to Maniacs about his solo direction on CMFT, saying:
"...if it was anything I felt like I could have done with either band, I probably wouldn't have done it. Like, the whole reason to do something like this is because it's different than anything anybody else has ever heard you do.
That was really the driving standpoint for me. I didn't want to just put out a watered-down Slipknot or Stone Sour album, I wanted to put out something that would represent me, a whole other side of who I am. Not only as a songwriter but a song lover, you know? I wanted to put out that vibe. And it just came out really upbeat and fucking awesome, really."
CMFT is out on October 2 via Roadrunner Records, with pre-orders available here!
