    As the legendary sci-fi inspired Voivod press on into their 35th year as a band, a 14th studio album called The Wake has been announced with a September 21 release date through Century Media.

    The band have also given us the first taste of the album with 'Obsolete Beings', an energetic track with eerie melodies which should please long-time Voivod fans (the guitar solo from Chewy at three minutes in is particularly tasty!). Have a listen for yourself:

    The last Voivod full length was 2013's Target Earth which was well-received well by critics and older fans alike, so we're really keen to hear what the band has in store for us come September.
