Bring Me The Horizon fans have been sent into hype overdrive over the weekend after posters featuring the band's logo were spotted around the UK with the words "Do you wanna start a cult with me?" and an accompanying phone number and website address. The website, joinmantra.org, reads like a cult introduction but ends with the words:
But these things too have answers. And all we tell you now is that you can be free.
But first, we must piss you off.
Salvation will return.
21 August 2018
This leads us to believe that the band could be releasing a new song called 'Mantra' on August 21st! As for the phone number, it could initially only be called from within the UK, however the posters have also been spotted around Sydney with an Australian-friendly phone number included:
Upon calling the number, you're greeted by an automated voice that says "Welcome to Mantra." before placing you in a queue which moves you further up over a few minutes. While you wait, eerie rumbles and distorted voices can be heard over the hold music. The automated voice reads out lines such as "Welcome to Mantra. Don't think, don't question, just believe." and "Mantra - we live where we stand. Because consciousness is not only that annoying time between naps."
When you finally reach the end of the queue a pre-recorded woman answers and asks for your name before you are treated to a very short and distorted clip of what appears to be new Bring Me The Horizon music. You then hear a distressed woman saying she is being held against her will and the call hangs up. Very creepy!
The band's last album That's The Spirit was released in 2015, so we're very keen for some new tunes come August 21st (hopefully)! We'll have any new BMTH news for you as soon as we get it so keep your eyes peeled.
Listen to Bring Me The Horizon now.
