American metalcore kings As I Lay Dying have wiped their Facebook page and released new artwork along with a 40-second teaser video which contains a snippet of their first new material in over five years.
While the video doesn't show the faces of any of the members, there is much speculation amongst fans that it's the original lineup. Yes, that includes vocalist Tim Lambesis, who was sentenced to six years in prison in 2013 for paying $1000 to an undercover cop disguised as a hitman to kill his wife and released two years later on good behaviour.
Lambesis also made headlines in 2015 when he filed a lawsuit for $35 million in punitive damages against a California state medical team for allegedly failing to prescribing him certain medication before his incarceration, resulting in in the development of gynecomastia (enlarged breasts). The lawsuit was thrown out in 2016.
As I Lay Dying saw considerable success over their earlier career with multiple albums cracking the top 10 in the US and a Grammy nomination. Their last album Awakened was released in 2012.
