In an embarassing blunder, Amazon are currently using a picture of Steel Panther to promote a Mötley Crüe documentary.
You can see the blunder in all of its high-def glory below.
The documentary in question is the 2020 Rock ‘n Roll Icon: Mötley Crüe by director Richard Driscoll.
The synopsis promises a loot at the American heavy Metal Band Mötley Crüe. Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars and lead singer Vince Neil. We've checked and the documentary does not repeat the blunder by casting Steel Panther in the role of the Crüe.
Steel Panther vocalist Michael Starr delighted in the monumental muck-up from Amazon, sharing the below video on his Instagram highlighting it.
The blunder is made all the more hilarious by the fact that the designer has clearly spliced together a shot of the real Mötley Crüe with Steel Panther to create the artwork, as the quite notable features of the Mötley Crüe members can be seen in the obscured image at the top of the documentary artwork.
