The lines between the world of pro-wrestling and metal continue 'bleeding in the blur'. God's Hate frontman and AEW wrestler Brody King of the occult influenced House Of Black stable has slammed fellow AEW wrestler Darby Allin into the moshpit at a Code Orange gig! Watch the moment of absolute chaos, shared by Code Orange on their official Instagram below.
This moment of choreographed violence is the latest example of the connection between the metal and wrestling worlds. A little while back we spoke to Australian wrestling legend Krackerjak about the joy of this violent movement. It's not the first time wrestling has featured at a Code Orange show either, the band has played live at several WWE events, including reworking Bray Wyatt's already iconic entrance theme for 'The Fiends' debut at WWE SummerSlam 2019. Check it out but beware you might get scared.
AEW also employ ex-Every Time I Die guitarist Andy 'The Butcher' Williams.
Code Orange is touring after returning with the new single Out For Blood. The absolute rager of a track showcases a 'nu' side of the band, infusing nu-metal, industrial and classic metal elements into their already dense sonic template. It also features one of our favourite guitar solos in a long while, courtesy of Reba Meyers. Arriving with an absolutely hectic and appropriately bloody official video, directed by Max Moore, Out For Blood is yet another evolution from one of the most innovative and progressive bands in heavy music.
Watch the video for Out For Blood below.
Talking on Out For Blood, Code Orange frontperson Jami Morgan delivers a brief but effective statement of intent that seems to indicate that further sonic evolution is on the horizon from the 2 X GRAMMY nominees.
"When they go right, we go left. Code Orange is OUT FOR BLOOD and we are just gettin’ started.”
Available now on all streaming platforms, Out For Blood was produced by Rob Cavallo (My Chemical Romance / Green Day), and it marks the first official new music from the band since 2020's game-changing and acclaimed full-length Underneath (which was one of our top 10 albums of 2020).
Code Orange recently performed on Slipknot's Knotfest Livestream, giving a global audience a taste of their impressive live chops. The band also recently announced the addition of drummer Max Portnoy (Tallah/son of prog metal drum icon, Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy).
Last year the band teamed up with Adult Swim and QuakeCon to produce a cover of Nine Inch Nail's Quake Theme. Watch the animated video below.
